NCCP Storytime and Book Donation

On December 18, 2019, volunteers from the AKR Foundation had a great time visiting the North Chicago Community Partners' after school enrichment programs in D187. The  program goals focus on social emotional learning, academic support and providing students with an array of enrichment experiences to widen their exposure to new discoveries and learnings.

Volunteers read books by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, played games, and shared our love of learning and reading with the kindergarten through third grade students, in the after school program, at Forrestal Elementary and Evelyn Alexander Elementary in the Great Lakes/North Chicago area.  Every child in the program, and every kindergartener at the schools, received a copy of Amy's book, illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld,  Exclamation Mark.
