"Why The World Needs Amy Krouse Rosenthal Now More Than Ever" on WBEZ
Amy Krouse Rosenthal was a prolific, best-selling children’s book author and an artist, who spent many years at WBEZ as a contributor, with her show within a show called “Writers Block Party” and her blog Mission Amy KR.
Rosenthal died in 2017 of ovarian cancer at the age of 51.
But her mission to bring light to the world has been picked up by her foundation, and their popular Yellow Umbrella Party, a fundraiser dedicated to raising money and awareness to fight Ovarian Cancer.
This year’s event has gone virtual, but, it’s expected to pack a punch. Stars like Julie Andrews, Jennifer Garner, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Joan Cusack and her old friend John Green are going to take part in a big online affair - which is scheduled for Oct. 8.
Reset sits down with The Fault In Our Stars author John Green and the late author’s husband, Jason, about the continuing legacy of Amy Krouse Rosenthal.
