2022 marks five years since we lost Amy and Amy’s husband, Jason B. Rosenthal, founded The Amy Krouse Rosenthal Foundation in her memory. In that time, the Foundation has:

  • funded five separate ovarian cancer early detection research grants, and

  • distributed hundreds of thousands of books to children in need.

With your help, we are looking forward to doing even more in the coming years to make a critical difference in these two important areas.

In appreciation and recognition of the generosity of the Foundation’s top donors, the Foundation has formed the Yellow Umbrella Leadership Circle. We hope you’ll take advantage of the opportunity to join the Leadership Circle and help the Foundation to do more.

Yellow Umbrella Leadership Circle donors make gifts of $5,000 or more annually or pledged over a two-year period to the Foundation. Together, these dedicated donors play a pivotal role in helping the Foundation’s dual mission succeed.

Your Yellow Umbrella Leadership Circle gift supports:

  • Books to provide children the chance to develop strong reading skills so that they can unlock their imaginations, learn new skills, and shape their lives on their own terms. The number of books in a child’s home and the time spent reading are directly linked to success in school. Yet, 60 percent of low-income households have no children’s books.  We aim to put more books into the hands and homes of children in need around the country. Learn more here.

  • Research grants geared towards the early detection of ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of the gynecologic cancers because it is too often detected in the later stages. Since early detection can drastically change outcomes, the Foundation funds research that pursues finding and testing new strategies for the early detection of ovarian cancer. Yellow Umbrella Leadership Circle donors receive a variety of benefits, such as: your corporate logo or name listed on our website; sponsorship recognition at all Foundation events, including the annual Yellow Umbrella Party, along with receipt of all corresponding sponsor benefits; access to invitation-only events, including any Leadership Circle meetings and updates;
and an Amy Krouse Rosenthal Foundation yellow umbrella thank you gift.
